Louis Armstrong poem

Louis

Talented, brave, driven.

Husband of Lucille Wilson, father of Sharon Preston-Folta, Dave Bartholomew, Clarence Armstrong.

Who loved music, hated prejudice, loved to make people happy with his music.

Who played the trumpet, Stood up for his beliefs, and remained true to himself.

Who feared speaking out against racism, feared segregation, feared people trying to change him.

He developed a way of playing jazz both instrumentalist and vocalist, Had many hit songs, Famous for playing the trumpet and his powerful gravelly voice.

He wanted to play in front of blacks and whites together in peace, He wanted to see jazz music get famous.

 New Orleans, Louisiana.
